Scott Wolf has spoken out about his contentious split from estranged wife Kelley Wolf.

“[My] continued hope is to have this most difficult chapter of our family’s lives remain as private as possible, however, the well being of my children is at stake, and that will always be my priority,” the actor, 57, said in a statement to People on Friday, August 15. “There are some significant challenges that are making our situation incredibly difficult and contentious, and it is tragic for all involved.”

Scott added that he was “informed of some deeply disturbing and entirely false allegations” made about him via Kelley.

“I am now choosing to come forward and share that she has described to me her plans to ‘make claims’ about me, although she also admitted, ‘I do not believe they’re true,’ in order to gain an advantage in what she sees as a ‘battle’ in court, and in the court of public opinion,” the statement continued. “In order to protect my kids, I am providing the text messages she sent to me where she describes this plan, so there are no questions about her intentions, or the malicious intent behind her false allegations made and/or planned for the future.”

Everything to Know About Scott and Kelley Wolf’s Divorce and Police Drama

According to the alleged text messages viewed by People, Kelley, 48, claimed that she “was advised to make claims that are possible,” including accusing Scott of things “such as psychological abuse, child abuse, child endangerment, stealing with passports.”

“When you accused me of all the things you put in the restraining order, you made me into a villain,” the alleged message read. “The only way I can fight back is to produce claims that are either the same as yours or greater.”

Kelley’s alleged message stated that she acted to “create more urgency to get the kids back. Or at least get back joint custody.” (The exes share three children: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.)

“Although her claims are completely baseless and incredibly dangerous, the worst part is that they are traumatic for our children,” Scott’s statement read. “I hope that anyone who might speak publicly or report on such things, will consider this before spreading any further information from a clearly unreliable and completely compromised source.”

Kelley Wolf Says ‘Heinous’ Allegations Are Keeping Her From Seeing Kids

Scott concluded his statement asking for “privacy and respect” and expressed his gratitude for those who have “shown their love and support” in the challenging time.

In response, Kelley told People on Friday, “I will be very clear when I say this: I don’t believe that Scott would [abuse our children],” she said. “I’ve lost my career, my reputation, my children, my integrity, my honor, my devotion to my marriage. As a parent, I have literally lost everything except my life. I’ve done everything strategic, and I’m hopeful for my children.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Kelley for comment.

She and Scott split back in June with the Party of Five alum filing for divorce after 21 years of marriage.

“After 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife, Kelley,” Scott said in a statement at the time. “Our children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.”

Scott Wolf Returns to Instagram With 1st Post Since Divorce Drama

That same month, Kelley was detained by police after making “concerning” comments about her relationship with Scott, per law enforcement. She was hospitalized and later released.

The pair’s split has only gotten more tumultuous since. Kelley has been outspoken against Scott on her social media. Us confirmed in late June that Scott was granted a temporary restraining order against Kelley. In August, multiple calls were made to 911 about Kelley and Scott’s Utah home. One of the calls claimed that Kelley attempted to break into the home as she livestreamed via Instagram.

In response to the incident, Kelley told Us in a statement, “As a mother and woman, I stand up for children. Mine are amazing and worth any and all suffering I may endure. It goes without question, that I would never hurt my children or anyone. “If that is in question… I am available to speak and defend myself against horrendous and disturbing allegation[s], mental hospitals, public shaming . I have endured the unthinkable and still … I am a mother, a fighter, grateful and hopeful that I can stay strong for my children.”

She continued: “To anyone who has participated in a public shaming of myself or my children… I would like to say… I am Kelley and my cousin Karma is a bitch. We are tough and strong and we never back down … especially when it comes to our children. I ask for grace and kindness … and mostly … I ask that anyone who wants to challenge my ethics, be put on notice. I am first a mother and then… call me any name in the book.. trust me, this is not my first reality show.”
