If you’re looking for free movies to watch online without a subscription, there aren’t many options left in the streaming-verse.

However, YouTube offers a small selection of films from many of the Hollywood studios that you can watch anytime without being charged.

The downside is that YouTube’s film library is often in flux, and many of the titles are only there for a short time.

Nevertheless, Watch With Us has put together this list of the seven must-watch free YouTube movies you can catch in August. Watch them while you can, because they may not be around in September.

28 Must-Watch Movies on Netflix (August 2025): ‘The Departed’ and More

‘Titanic’ (1997)

James Cameron bet the proverbial farm on making the story of the tragic sinking of the Titanic into an epic romantic movie. But the story has a happy ending for Cameron, who went on to win Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director while Titanic became one of the top-grossing movies of all time.

Leonardo DiCaprio leads the cast as Jack Dawson, a poor artist who wins two tickets to ride on the Titanic’s maiden voyage. That’s where Jack meets Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), a young woman who is being forced to marry a rich jerk, Cal Hockley (Billy Zane). When Cal discovers that his bride-to-be has fallen in love with Jack, he goes out of his way to destroy his rival. However, the impending destruction of the ship turns this love story into a tale of survival and tragedy.

‘The Fate of the Furious’ (2017)

Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) has been such a larger-than-life hero in the Fast & Furious films that it was actually refreshing to see him go bad in The Fate of the Furious. Not by choice, of course. The cyber terrorist known as Cipher (Charlize Theron) has found Dom’s weakness, and she uses it to blackmail him into helping her steal an advanced EMP device.

That forces Dom to betray his ally, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), and his entire team in the middle of a mission. Dom’s wife, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), isn’t going to let Dom go without a fight. And to counter Cipher’s leverage, the crew may need help from Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the man who murdered one of their own.

‘King Kong’ (2005)

This is one King Kong who won’t be fighting Godzilla anytime soon. Two decades ago, The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson achieved his dream of creating a modern remake of King Kong. Jackson even maintained the 1933 setting of the original film and gave most of the movie’s characters more personality and life than they had before.

Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) gets her cinematic redemption in this version of the story. She’s still a damsel who catches Kong’s eye when she arrives on Skull Island, but Ann also forms a more believable bond with the giant ape and doesn’t simply scream every time she sees him. All of the other humans are less than nothing to Kong, but director Carl Denham (Jack Black) is obsessed with bringing the ape back to New York in chains… no matter how much danger that places his crew in.

‘The Lego Movie’ (2014)

Before writers and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller produced Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, they pulled off a narrative miracle by making The Lego Movie into a truly great animated adventure. There are all sorts of crossover icons — including Will Arnett‘s very funny Lego Batman — and original characters, including Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks). Yet this story ultimately comes down to Emmet Brickowski (Chris Pratt), the most ordinary guy in the Lego universe.

Emmet’s not looking for excitement or trying to rock the boat of his little life. Regardless, Emmet is mistakenly identified as the chosen one who can defeat Lord Business (Will Ferrell) and prevent his attempt to freeze the world. Somehow, Emmet has to find it within himself to become the hero he needs to be. It might help that Emmet has some awareness of a world beyond the Legos that looks a lot like our own.

‘Good Will Hunting’ (1997)

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck literally wrote their ticket to stardom when they penned the Oscar-winning script for Good Will Hunting and held out for two of the leading roles. Damon plays Will, a troubled ex-con who works as a janitor at MIT, while Affleck portrays his best friend, Chuckie.

After Will proves that he’s a mathematical genius, Professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgård) gets him out of legal trouble by offering to let Will study with him at the college. The catch is that Will also has to see a psychiatrist, Dr. Sean Maguire (Robin Williams), to get past his insecurity and the inner demons that are holding him back from enjoying the life that he has.

‘Psycho’ (1960)

The most impressive aspect of Alfred Hitchcock‘s Psycho is how much time the director spends convincing the audience that the film is about Marion Crane (Janet Leigh). She’s a woman who made a very foolish choice out of love, only to flee because Marion was afraid of the legal consequences of her actions. However, Marion should have stayed away from the Bates Motel at all costs.

Marion’s sister, Lila Crane (Vera Miles), and Marion’s boyfriend, Sam Loomis (John Gavin), both turn up at the Bates Motel hoping to find her. Instead, they meet Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), a disturbed man who wouldn’t hurt a fly. His mother, on the other hand, is less than forgiving when anyone comes between her and her beloved son.

‘Planet of the Apes’ (1968)

The first Planet of the Apes movie may lack the polish and special effects wizardry of the modern films, but it has an unforgettable script co-written by The Twilight Zone‘s Rod Serling and one of the most famous endings in the history of cinema.

Charlton Heston has a great performance as George Taylor, one of the only astronauts from Earth who survived a crash landing on an unknown world inhabited by intelligent apes. Taylor finds sympathy and support from two of the ape scientists, Cornelius (Roddy McDowall) and Zira (Kim Hunter). But he also faces opposition from Dr. Zaius (Maurice Evans), an ape who will do almost anything to prevent the secrets of the past from coming to light.
