Freakier Friday has finally hit theaters, and fans of the original film are dying to know if Lindsay Lohan’s iconic and spunky character, Anna Coleman, gets a fairy tale ending.

Warning: spoilers for Freakier Friday ahead.

The sequel, which is set more than two decades after Freaky Friday, picks up with the story of Anna, who is now in her 30s and a single mom to daughter Harper Coleman (Julia Butters). She is working in the music industry managing a singer named Ella (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), who is going through some relationship issues of her own.

Anna falls in love with a man named Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto) after a meet-cute at Harper’s school. Eric’s daughter, Lily Davies (Sophia Hammons), attends the same school as Harper, but the classmates do not get along. Despite their kids’ disdain for each other, Eric proposes to Anna and the pair begin to plan their October 3 wedding.

On the night of Anna’s bachelorette party, a fortune teller gives readings to Anna, her mom, Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis), Harper and Lily. The next morning, they all wake up to find that Anna and Harper switched bodies and Lily and Tess switched bodies.

The rest of the film is spent trying to reverse the big switch, as Lily and Harper continue to argue and try to stop their parents from getting married. Tess and Anna also have some disagreements about whether or not the family should relocate to London, where Eric is from, or stay in California. There’s the return of some familiar faces along the way, including Jake (Chad Michael Murray) and Mr. Elton Bates (Stephen Tobolowsky).

The ending of the film features a tender scene between Anna and Harper that might bring tears to your eyes and features a fun surprise when the credits roll.

Scroll below to find out how the movie ends and if there is a post-credits scene:

How Does ‘Freakier Friday’ End?

After all of their attempts to switch their bodies back, from running into each other head-on to talking out their issues, Anna, Harper, Tess and Lily are still unsuccessful. Harper (who is still trapped inside of Anna’s body) tries to pretend everything is normal at Anna’s wedding rehearsal lunch with Eric, but Lily is still hoping her dad will reconsider remarrying.

Lily calls Jake to come to the party so that Eric will think Anna is cheating on him. Jake’s appearance certainly catches Eric off guard, and he decides to call off the wedding after chaos ensues between the girls. Anna and Harper both storm out of the venue and head to a concert that Anna’s client Ella is performing at.

At the concert, Ella calls Anna up to the stage to perform a touching song that she wrote for her daughter. Anna’s high school band, Pink Slip, joins her on stage for the song. Anna also brings Harper out onto the stage to perform with her. Harper starts to realize that Anna just wants her to live a happy life and have a healthy family dynamic, especially since Eric is a good guy and is madly in love with Anna.

Meanwhile, Lily (who is still trapped in Tess’ body) has a candid conversation with Eric about how she needs a family like the Colemans and stability in her life. She encourages Eric to head to Ella’s concert and to give Anna another chance. He follows suit, and Lily and Tess go along with him. When they get to the venue, Anna is performing the moving ballad with Harper.

It’s at that moment that Anna, Harper, Tess and Lily switch back to their bodies after they realize the importance of a strong family unit. Eric shouts to Anna from the crowd that he still wants to marry her. After the concert, viewers get to see Anna and Eric tie the knot in front of their friends and family in a romantic ceremony.

Does Freakier Friday Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Freakier Friday has a mid-credits scene instead of a post-credits scene. In it, the entire family heads to a bookstore where Tess’ book, Rebelling With Respect, is being advertised on the store’s window amid its release. She is horrified to find that the photo of her that was used on the back of the book shows her with swollen lips, a product of when Lily was trapped inside of her body and decided to use lip plumper.

After the mid-credits scene, bloopers play as the rest of the credits roll. Among the hilarious moments is Curtis eating 34 donuts while filming a scene that takes place in the kitchen with Ryan Volvo (Mark Harmon). Other clips feature the cast breaking character, including when Lily, Harper, Tess and Anna switch bodies.

Who Makes Cameos in ‘Freakier Friday’?

Freakier Friday features cameos from several stars of the first film. Murray reprises his role of Jake, Anna’s former high school boyfriend, while Tobolowsky is back as Elton, who is still working at the school. Christina Vidal Mitchell and Haley Hudson return as Anna’s Pink Slip bandmates, Maddie and Peg. There’s also a brief cameo from Ryan Malgarini as Anna’s brother, Harry Coleman.

Lucille Soong reprises her role of Pei-Pei’s mom, while Rosalind Chao is back as Pei-Pei. Vanessa Bayer portrays kooky fortune teller Madame Jen, and Chloe Fineman plays a dance teacher named GiGi who helps Anna and Eric practice for their first dance.

Freakier Friday also features a Parent Trap reunion between Lohan and Elaine Hendrix, who plays a character named Blake who works at a magazine.
