It’s taken a long time, but it appears that Lindsay Lohan finally has the first big hit of her comeback. The former Disney star has reunited with Jamie Lee Curtis in Freakier Friday, the sequel to their 2003 hit, Freaky Friday.
In the first movie, Anna Coleman (Lohan) and her mother, Tess (Curtis), swapped bodies as part of a supernatural life lesson.
This time, Anna and her daughter, Harper (Julia Butters), have swapped bodies, while Tess and Anna’s soon-to-be stepdaughter, Lily Davies (Sophia Hammons), have traded places.

Is ‘Freakier Friday’ Streaming on Disney+?

As the Lilo & Stitch live-action film demonstrated, nostalgia still sells. That film was originally a Disney+ original, and the studio would have lost out on $1.025 billion worldwide if it had debuted there. No one expects Freakier Friday to hit those same numbers, but it should do pretty well.

Don’t expect to see Freakier Friday on Disney+ until near the end of fall or early winter. Disney doesn’t rush its biggest hits to streaming anymore, because that trains the audience to wait for films to show up on Disney+. Instead, Disney has lengthened the wait between theaters and streaming to approximately three-and-a-half months.
