A movie inspired by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s life and marriage is still in development following the Black Sabbath frontman’s death.
A representative for Polygram Entertainment confirmed to Variety on Wednesday, August 6, that the production company is still planning to make the feature film and is “currently in negotiations with a director.” Further movie details have yet to be revealed.
Polygram and Osbourne Media, Ozzy and Sharon’s label, previously announced plans for a movie about the pair’s relationship in 2021. Sharon, now 72, and her children Jack and Aimee were attached to produce. (Sharon and Ozzy, who also had three kids from a past relationship, shared daughter Kelly, as well.)
Ozzy was married to Sharon from 1982 until his death on July 22 at the age of 76.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Osbourne’s family said in a statement shared with Us Weekly at the time. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
Ozzy, who had battled Parkinson’s disease in the years preceding his death, was laid to rest nearly one week later. Sharon and their children attended a memorial on the grounds of their family estate in England.
Days after the service, Jack, 39, broke his silence with a touching social media tribute.
“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much,” Jack wrote via Instagram on Wednesday. “I’m gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad.’”

He added, “My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing. I think this quote best describes my father. Hunter S. Thompson once said, ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body … but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!’ That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully.”
Kelly, 40, noted in her own Instagram tribute that Ozzy was “the best friend [she] ever had.”
“I feel unhappy, I am so sad,” she wrote via Instagram Story.
The rest of Ozzy’s children, who are notably private individuals, have not released public statements on his passing.
