Despite finding an immediate connection while filming season 6 of Love Island USA, Aaron Evans and Kaylor Martin had one of the most tumultuous relationships before their messy split.
Season 6, which premiered in June 2024, introduced Aaron and Kaylor as original Islanders who coupled up and remained together. But just because they immediately explored their chemistry doesn’t mean Aaron and Kaylor didn’t have their fair share of hardships.
Their biggest relationship hurdle came during Casa Amor, when Aaron explored his feelings for bombshell Daniela Ortiz Rivera after pledging his commitment to Kaylor.
Kaylor found out anyway but it turned out not to be the whole story and viewers had a front row seat to Aaron and Kaylor’s off-and-on romance. Once out of the villa, Kaylor and Aaron tried to give their relationship a real chance. Unfortunately, even outside the spotlight their romance fizzled out by the August 2024 reunion special.

“After the reunion, I basically dipped back to the U.K.. It was quite a horrible experience, the whole reunion situation,” Aaron said in a confessional during the Beyond the Villa premiere in July 2025. “There was a lot of backlash, there was a lot of negativity.”
Aaron called the public backlash a “pretty dark” time for him, adding, “I just remember times where all I wanted to do all day was sleep because it was the only thing that would get me out of thinking of what was going on in my head I just had to unplug myself and just get off of all socials, which I think was really healthy.”
The Peacock spinoff paved the way for Aaron and Kaylor to try to get closure one year after their split. But the former couple — and viewers — were left confused by the dynamic between Aaron and Taylor.
“I do think Aaron is a great guy. I know who he is — that’s why I love him. I love him. I care about him,” Kaylor told the cameras. “I always will think Aaron’s attractive.”

Aaron made the decision to join the other guys in Casa Amor, which is where he met Daniela. After bonding over being bilingual, the duo made out several times and some of the footage was sent to Kaylor back in the villa.
After returning to the villa solo, Aaron downplayed to Kaylor what happened between him and Daniela. The truth came to light during multiple challenges, including Movie Night, where multiple clips of Aaron and Daniela’s heated moments played out on screen.
Kaylor considered ending things with Aaron multiple times, but they ultimately stayed together and he declared his love for her. The pair were voted as one of the bottom couples and only remained in the villa after they were saved by their fellow Islanders. Before the finale, Kaylor and Aaron were officially dumped from the island.

After leaving Fiji, Aaron and Kaylor initially attempted to make their romance work. But Kaylor later admitted on the “BFFs” podcast that her “perspective definitely has changed” after watching the show back. She added that she wanted to “take a step back” from their relationship.

At the reunion, Aaron admitted he “lied” to Kaylor and he had been more intimate with Daniela than what was shown in season 6.
“Why didn’t you tell me this two days ago when I was asking you in our hotel room? Be honest. Look me in the eyes when you say that. I’m tired of the f***ing excuses. Take accountability and be a f***ng man,” Kaylor told Aaron. “I just saw you the past three f***ing days in New York and you haven’t said that to me once. Why do you keep f***ing lying to me? And quit loving bombing me. I cannot believe I wasted my entire f***ing summer on you, Aaron. I don’t want anything to do with you.”
She added: “I walked into the villa being so confident and you beat me down, beat me down, beat me down. And I left a different f***ing girl.”

After reuniting on Beyond the Villa, Aaron apologized to Kaylor, saying, “I apologize for what I put you through. The f***ing gaslighting, manipulating, all that stuff, I do apologize for.” Kaylor described their interactions as “so awkward” in a confessional, but the exes continued to cross paths while filming the spinoff.
