The Portland Hearts of Pine secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Halifax Wanderers in a friendly exhibition match at a sold-out Fitzpatrick Stadium.
In the first half, Portland’s Mickey Reilly capitalized on a turnover, stealing the ball and scoring to give the Hearts an early 1-0 lead.
The match remained tense, and two minutes into stoppage time in the second half, with the score tied at 1, a corner kick led to a chaotic scramble in front of the goal. The ball found its way to Ollie Wright, who fired home the game-winning goal, sealing the victory for the Hearts.
