A Maine mother is suing a school claiming it covered up an assault on her disabled child. Bobbi Jo Simard filed the suit against Central Maine Learning Center and a former employee on behalf of her child with emotional disabilities. 

Maine has no plans to confront schools that are bucking state transgender protections. Two districts have aligned with President Donald Trump barring transgender students from using bathrooms or competing in sports according to their gender identities.
