A crash has caused a major backup on Interstate 95 north of Bangor.
The crash happened Wednesday morning near mile marker 189 on the southbound side of the highway in Veazie.
Traffic has been moving very slowly. That’s affecting southbound traffic between the Hogan Road exit in Bangor and the Stillwater exit in Orono.
Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Wednesday morning that drivers should avoid the area.
Correction: An earlier version of this report misstated the number of the mile marker near the crash site.
