After hot and humid days on Thursday and Friday, temperatures are starting to look a little more enjoyable for the next two days of the Bangor State Fair.
Opening day on Thursday saw the daytime high reach 82 degrees in Bangor, while the dew point hovered around 63 degrees, resulting in a relative humidity of around 54 percent, according to the National Weather Service.
Conditions Friday aren’t much different, with the temperature reaching 77 degrees in Bangor as of noon, and a dew point temperature of 71. That amounts to around an 82 percent relative humidity, with intermittent showers providing little relief.

Looking toward Saturday and Sunday, skies are expected to be mostly clear with temperatures reaching the low to mid 80s. Relative humidity indexes should drop, making for ideal fair-going weather.
The Bangor State Fair, which is one of the oldest in the country, will be running through Sunday, as well as next Thursday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2.
Livestock events will be held inside the Cross Insurance Center at 515 Main St., with the midway set up across Bass Park. Parking is available near the Cross Center on a first-come, first-served basis, and street parking is available throughout the neighborhood.
Entrance tickets cost $15 on Saturday, while tickets on Sunday will cost $12. Entrance for children under 5 is free.
The midway opens at 1 p.m. every day.

There will be a number of food trucks at the venue, as well as novelty food items such as smoked turkey legs and footlong hotdogs at the entertainment tent. Both alcoholic and non-alcholic drinks will be available at various locations on the midway.
There also will be a variety of entertainment, including the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, magic shows, wrestling, movie nights and more.
The demolition derby returns this year on both weekends of the fair; truck pulls, split between the afternoon and evening in an effort to drive attendance; and a classic car show.

Various show and stock animals will be shown at the fair throughout both weekends with appearances from area 4-H clubs, along with pedal tractor pulls.
