Teddi Mellencamp has provided a new update on her ongoing stage 4 brain cancer battle, revealing the toll her immunotherapy treatments have taken on her.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 44, explained on the Wednesday, July 23, episode of her and Tamra Judge’s “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast that immunotherapy was making her feel “sicker” as she continues to grapple with the disease.
“Essentially, what we figured out with me was, yes, I started out feeling great, and I could do all the pods and I could do all these things, and I could go to all my daughter’s horse shows and I could stay at my house by myself, and I felt really strong,” Mellencamp explained.
She continued, “And what’s happening with me is the longer that I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker it’s making me.”

Mellencamp was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022. In February this year, she underwent surgery to remove multiple brain tumors after suffering “severe and debilitating headaches.” In March, she updated fans via her Instagram, informing them that doctors had found “three more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs,” adding, “These are all a direct result of my melanoma.”
On Wednesday’s podcast, Mellencamp explained that in consultation with her doctors, she is going to temporarily pause the immunotherapy treatments “because this immune therapy has hit me so incredibly hard.”
“So we’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling stronger,” she said. “And I’m on steroids and we’re doing everything that we can to get me back to feeling like I, you know, I can do this, I can do all the things.”
The podcast host said that while some days she has energy to do things she used to do, other days it is difficult. She noted she sometimes has issues with memory recall, which makes it tricky to recap Real Housewives episodes on the podcast.
“I don’t want to fill your guys’ feed with cancer, you know, like I know that that can be a depressing topic, but I also want [people to know that] if you’re going through something like this, things are going to change and that’s okay,” she continued.” The hardest thing for me has been kind of the wake up call of ‘Wow, I can’t do what I did yesterday,’ or ‘Wow, I can’t do what I did three weeks ago.’”

Mellencamp also noted that her cancer diagnosis has affected her family, including estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, and their children. (The pair, who announced their split in November 2024, are parents of Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4; Mellencamp is also the stepmother of Arroyave’s eldest daughter, Isabella, 15.)
“It’s changed my kids’ life. It’s changed my relationship with Edwin,” she said. “You guys all know that we were filing for divorce. Nothing’s changed in that other than that we’re on hold because of what’s happening to me medically. But he’s had to step in and help me because some days I can’t do it.”
