Chris Martin started to play detective after the kiss cam seemingly caught two people cheating during a Coldplay concert.
In fan footage captured at the band’s Wednesday, July 16, performance in Massachusetts, Martin, 48, questioned a couple about their relationship status right after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, ducked out of the frame in a now-viral moment.
“OK, now listen, are you two a couple?” Martin asked in a clip shared via social media. “Are you two a legitimate couple?”
When they didn’t initially react, the Coldplay frontman asked whether they understood English and jokingly asked if they spoke Spanish. Martin then quipped, “OK, I’m just gonna risk it. Can you hear me?”

When they nodded, Martin said, “OK, good,” and began singing “Fix You.”
Martin’s trolling came shortly after the kiss cam zeroed in on Byron and Cabot. Byron, who is reportedly married to another woman, had his arms around Cabot as they swayed to the music, but when they noticed themselves on the kiss cam, they immediately tried to hide.
The internet, however, did its thing, and soon figured out that Byron is the CEO of Astronomer, which is the company behind Astro, “the industry-leading data orchestration and observability platform powered by Apache Airflow.” According to Astronomer’s website, “Astro accelerates building reliable data products that unlock insights, unleash AI value and power data-driven applications.”

Martin himself reacted to Byron and Cabot’s behavior in the moment, saying, “Whoa, look at these two. Alright, come on. You’re OK. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. I’m not quite sure what to do.”
He then added, “Holy s***. I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
Neither Byron nor Cabot have commented on the situation. Andy is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has also not spoken out about the incident or her marital status. Internet sleuths, however, noticed that she seemingly removed “Byron” from her Facebook before deleting her account.
A statement circulated on Thursday, July 17, claiming to be from Andy, but the company has said that it is fake.

Cabot was hired by Astronomer in November 2024. “At Astronomer, our people are the most valuable asset in helping our customers do more to gain a competitive advantage with their data,” Andy said in a press release announcing Cabot’s employment. “Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.”
In her own statement, Cabot said she felt “energized” to work with Andy and his team.
“I prefer to think of my role as people strategy versus traditional human resources, as the real magic happens when you align the people strategy with the business strategy,” she said last year. “There are plenty of companies out there where a leadership team doesn’t recognize the value that a strong people leader and people team can bring to a company. It’s not just about benefits or catered lunches. There’s so much more to it, and I was energized in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”
