Rockland police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly followed a woman into the police department parking lot while driving drunk and crashed into a parked cruiser.
Police got a call just before 1 p.m. from a woman who said an erratic driver was following her. During the call, the woman reported that she was pulling into the Rockland Police Department parking lot and the other driver was still following her, according to Rockland police.
Officers who came to help learned that the stalking driver had crashed into an unoccupied parked cruiser then fled the scene in his vehicle, police said.
Rockland officers found the vehicle and its driver, Tilford Tillman, 29, of Vermont, who the department described as being under the influence of alcohol.
Tillman was arrested for allegedly operating under the influence and additionally charged with refusing to submit to arrest or detention, leaving the scene of an accident and driving to endanger.
