The latest tax bill passed by the Republican-controlled Congress is now essentially a license to victimize the poor, add several trillion to a $36 trillion national debt, ensure tax cuts for the already filthy rich and likely provide an electoral bloodbath for the Republicans in the mid-term 2026 election.

Those who voted for President Donald Trump are among the many who were led by Trump to expect a far better deal for the working man. These workingmen can now become the president’s and the Republicans’ greatest enemy in the next election.

So far these well-off politicians seem oblivious to this decimation to their political power base. In a way, I am pleased at their political blindness.

Never did a party so deserve, I believe, the shredding borne of their utter contempt for the hoi  polloi. In France in 1789, many aristocrats of their day were executed. But we are more civilized than that; we will merely show them the door to the public sector.
