The Senior League East Region Tournament returns to Mansfield Stadium in Bangor this week, as state champion teams from nine different states vie for a chance to compete in the Senior League World Series.
The double-elimination tournament gets underway on Wednesday with an 11 a.m. game between the New York and Pennsylvania state champions. Fans can watch a Maine team compete in the tournament for the first time since 2019 later on Wednesday, as the state champion team from the towns of Gray, New Gloucester and Raymond takes on Delaware champion Millsboro at 5 p.m.
The Gray-New Gloucester-Raymond team defeated Hampden to claim the Maine title and represent the Pine Tree State in the regional tournament.
Senior League is a division of Little League that features players ages 13 to 16. The regional tournament will be held from Wednesday to Monday. The winner will advance to the Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina, which will be held from July 26 to Aug. 2.
