William Clark was selected Maine County Commissioner of July in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.
Clark has served 8-plus years as a commissioner of Hancock County. Prior to that he served 34 years as Hancock County’s sheriff, and is the longest serving sheriff in the county’s history. He might have more combined years of service in such top level county positions than any other current Maine commissioner.
Clark is a former police officer, has been involved with Hancock County’s Spirit of America ceremonies honoring volunteers and also has done much more to help the cause of community service over the years.
Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service. For more information, visit https://spiritofamerica.website.
