Kesha put her and her fans’ safety first amid Texas’ deadly flash flooding event.
Following initial show delays that evening, the singer, 38, took to her social media accounts on Tuesday, July 8, to announce the cancellation of her scheduled concert at Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion.
“I wanted to say thank you for coming out to support an independent artist. I have been so excited for tonight and to celebrate my freedom and go tits out with all of you, but due to the weather and what yall here in Texas have been facing, I have to put your safety first,” Kesha wrote across X and Instagram. “My heart is with you Texas. I’m so sorry that I can’t play this show tonight because of the weather and for all of your safety.”
The “TiK ToK” star noted that she hoped to reschedule the show the following evening and that all tickets would be valid for her second outing. “I’m going to stay here in your beautiful city and come back here tomorrow and would love to play for all of you tomorrow night,” she wrote. “All of your tickets will be honored and I’m so sorry. Get home safe, let’s party tomorrow.”

As news stood in the early hours of Wednesday, July 9, more than 107 people have died as a result of catastrophic flash flooding throughout the state. NBC News reported the day prior that more than 160 people remained missing.
Celebrities have been impacted by the floods, including country singer Pat Green who announced on Tuesday that his family were personally affected. “Over the weekend, during the devastating flooding that hit Central Texas, my family — like so many others — suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss,” Pat, 53, shared in a statement via Instagram on Monday, July 7. “We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy.”
Pat’s post followed one shared by his wife, Kori Green, via Instagram that confirmed Pat’s younger brother, John, and his wife, Julia, as well as the couple’s two children “were swept away in the Kerrville flood.”

The tragedy was confirmed by Clark’s wife, Tavia Hunt, via an Instagram Story that day. “Our hearts are broken by the devastation from the floods in Wimberley and the tragic loss of so many lives — including a precious little Hunt cousin, along with several friend’s little girls,” Tavia, 53, wrote online.
