
Northern Light Acadia Hospital is delighted to announce that Dr. Charmaine Patel has been officially appointed as the senior physician executive, effective immediately. After serving as the interim senior physician executive since April 20, Dr. Patel has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the Acadia team.
Dr. Patel brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the medical director of adult inpatient services at Acadia since 2018. She has been actively involved in medical student and resident education and has received several accolades, including the Richard A. Bernstein Award for Excellence in Teaching and the George Ginsberg Fellowship Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Prior to joining Acadia, Dr. Patel held positions at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical Center, Vermont State Hospital and Central Vermont Medical Center.
Dr. Patel earned her bachelor of science in biology from the University of Maine and her doctor of medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Dr. Patel has been with Northern Light Acadia Hospital since 2016.
