The Lincoln District Courthouse is closed for at least two weeks.
The courthouse, located at 52 Main St., closed Friday after a flood, judicial spokesperson Barbara Cardone said. The building is closed as the damage is assessed and an investigation is conducted to see if there is mold, she said.
The district courthouse is the second to close in Penobscot County this year. The district courthouse at 12 Water St. in Newport closed abruptly Jan. 27 because of mold. It is still closed and there is no timeline for reopening.
All events scheduled for the Lincoln District Courthouse through July 18 will be moved to the Millinocket District Court at 207 Penobscot Ave., according to the state’s website.
All Newport cases are heard at the judicial center in Bangor.
