Aaron Rodgers used his past relationships in the spotlight as rationale for keeping his new marriage in the shadows.
Rodgers, 41, made an appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, June 24, where he referenced his previous romances while discussing his wife, Brittani, who he married earlier this year.
“I lived in the public eye for 20 years,” Rodgers said. “I had public relationships. How did that work out?”
While Rodgers didn’t mention any of his partners by name, the quarterback was previously engaged to actress Shailene Woodley before the couple split in February 2022.

He also dated race car driver Danica Patrick from December 2017 to July 2020, actress Olivia Munn from 2014 to April 2017 and was on-and-off with actress Jessica Szohr from 2011 to 2014.
On his first day at Pittsburgh Steelers minicamp on June 10, Rodgers revealed he had married Brittani “a couple months ago.”
In the time since, Rodgers still hasn’t been seen in public with her or divulged any additional details about his wife’s identity.
“I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye,” Rodgers told McAfee, 38, on Tuesday. “Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it. Because I do things in private, because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird.”
Rodgers called the “entitlement” to information about his marriage “so f***ing ridiculous and embarrassing.”
“Stop making s*** up,” he added. “My private life is my private life. It’s gonna stay that way. I’m with somebody who wants to be private. If and when she wants to be out and there’s a picture, she’ll choose that. She deserves a right to that.”
Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Steelers earlier this month. Once the season is over, Rodgers told McAfee that he plans on retiring — and going off the grid.

“When this is all done, I’m out,” Rodgers said. “You won’t see me.”
For the time being, Rodgers challenged those in the media to turn their attention elsewhere before the start of Steelers training camp.
“Do what you need to do, but try and leave me out of a conversation, sports world, for a month,” Rodgers said. “Try and just leave me out. My personal life. My professional life. Try not to talk about me. Try not to still be relevant for the next six weeks, five weeks, whatever it is. See if you can do that.”
The Steelers officially open training camp on July 24.
