Throughout her romance with Romeo Beckham, DJ Kim Turnbull was used to all sorts of speculation and rumors about her past.
“It comes with some territory. There are situations that you find yourself in that present you with new aspects, but at the same time I think it has always been something that I’ve been around and seen, so I just take it day by day and try to focus on the positives,” Turnbull, 24, told The Times of London in a Wednesday, June 18, profile. “Sometimes it’s difficult to block things out because a lot of the time there are things said that are not necessarily true or necessarily positive, and your instinctive reaction is to want to be like, ‘No, that’s not true.’ I think what I’ve learned, at this point in life, is to try and take it with a pinch of salt.”
While Turnbull tries not to let the rumors get her down, she admitted to the outlet that it’s certainly not easy.
“It’s definitely tough, whatever it is, when people are saying things about you that aren’t necessarily true and, most importantly in my opinion, don’t align with your character and your values,” she said. “You want to turn around and reply to every comment and have your say in it, but at the end of the day, you just can’t.”

Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that Turnbull and Beckham, 22, broke up after less than one year of dating. While it was heavily speculated that their romance ended because of drama with Romeo’s older brother, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, Turnbull denied the claims.
“I’ve avoided speaking on this topic to avoid adding fuel to the fire, however, it’s come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on,” she wrote in a social media statement shared on Monday, June 16. “I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative.”
Turnbull also appeared to address viral rumors — without mentioning anyone by name — that she was allegedly romantically linked to Brooklyn, 26, years before she dated Romeo.

“I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories. “Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”
Neither Brooklyn, who has been married to actress Nicola Peltz Beckham since 2022, nor Romeo have publicly addressed the breakup or alleged drama. For Turnbull, she tries not to look at the online speculation.
“It’s hard not to look at all sometimes, but I definitely try not to, to stay off of it as much as I can,” she told The Times. “And you have to separate the things that matter and the things that don’t.”
Turnbull also cited her family support for helping her navigate the drama.
“My family knows me, and they know who I am and what the real situation is,” she said. “They’re more concerned, like, ‘Are you OK?’ And I am.”
