Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa’s split made waves for Bachelor Nation who had watched their engagement nearly three months before — but there were signs the pair were having trouble in paradise.
Before Grant got down on one knee and proposed to Juliana, he admitted that he was torn between her and runner-up Litia Garr and told both his final two contestants that he loved them. On proposal day, Litia appeared blindsided by Grant’s decision to end their relationship and accused him of misleading her. She went on to claim during the live portion of the March finale that Grant claimed he could “stop the show” early because he knew she was The One.
While he apologized to Litia at the finale, Grant exclusively told Us Weekly there was “a lot” she said that he “didn’t align with.” He also noted that he and Juliana had discussed Litia’s reaction to their breakup.
“But I let her speak her truth and her piece. I’m not gonna sit up there and argue with her on stage about what she thought I said,” he told Us. “But I think that having a little more clarity — when you are the Bachelor, you do see your final two contestants as somebody that could be your wife. That’s where some confusion came into play. There’s room for interpretation when things are said, ‘off camera.’ At that point in time, I can’t really say much. I’m not gonna argue, I just have to accept whatever the conditions are and apologize and let her feel how she feels because she’s in a tough situation and she’s hurt. I understand.”
Despite the drama, Grant and Juliana insisted at the time that they were moving on as a united front.

Addressing Fans Who Think He’s Not Serious
In the March finale, Grant raised eyebrows when he detailed the differences in his relationship with Juliana and Litia.
“There’s love on both sides, but [it’s hard] deciding what to pick in such a short amount of time when I have a woman [Litia] who’s 31 who knows what she wants and would be there for me no matter what,” Grant shared with his dad. “And I have a woman [Juliana] who also loves me, but our relationship is more fun.”
After getting engaged to Juliana, Us asked Grant about his comments — to which he assured fans that he’s “very serious.”
“But everybody is different in a relationship. Some people are more serious and they don’t like to go out. Some people like to have fun. I think that in a relationship, you can be serious and have the best of both worlds — that’s what I meant,” he said. “Our relationship is a friendship. It’s fun in the fact that we can let loose and be ourselves.”

Speculation About Grant’s Sister’s Support — or Lack Thereof
In the live March finale episode, fans noticed cameras cutting to Grant’s family and sister Taylor.
“Grant’s sister is fuming. She definitely wanted him to choose Litia 
#TheBachelorFinale #TheBachelor,” one fan tweeted alongside a screenshot. Another uploaded a similar image and wrote, “Grant’s sister isn’t feeling Grant’s decision.” A third added, “Grants Sister is giving Barb Webber a run for her money with that scowl on her face.. #TheBachelor.”
Grant, however, denied the speculation that Taylor was not a fan of his and Juliana’s romance.
“They have a great relationship. Sometimes I have to tell my sister, like, ‘Dude, fix your face,’” he joked to Us in March. “Like, that’s just her. She has this mentality where she’s a boss, I guess. I don’t know what that is, but that’s my sister and she loves Juliana very much. The internet is gonna create a narrative and run with what they want. We know what we have internally, and that’s what we have to go with.”
Clapping Back at Fans Who Think Grant ‘Settled’
After Grant ended his romance with Litia, users questioned whether the lead also gave Juliana a journal to write down her feelings about their Bachelor journey.
“There’s no way he gave Juliana a journal too right?!?” one fan captioned a clip of Juliana journaling ahead of their engagement in March. Juliana replied, “He sure did.”
In the comments section of one of her TikTok posts from March, a user claimed Grant only picked her because she seemingly slept with him in the fantasy suites. Litia, for her part, previously expressed that she was not comfortable being intimate on the reality TV show.
“Litia is way too classy and good for him. He settled for you 
. He wanted to pick her up until the last minute,” the user wrote, to which Juliana responded, “So you think after a year of being celibate he just ‘gave it up’ for me? I’d think again gf & also … get a hobby. … That’s a fun narrative to believe if you want to.”

Working on Balancing Their Romance
When replying to a May Instagram Story Q&A about how she finds “the balance with prioritizing yourself and your relationship,” Juliana admitted, “Currently working on this one.”
“I was single for pretty much 7 years before I went on The Bachelor,” Juliana explained. “I’m stubborn, I am a bit of a control freak & I am very particular on how I spend my time so it’s been interesting to learn to let someone into that.”
Taking the Relationship ‘Day by Day’
When asked about when his upcoming wedding may be to Juliana, Grant did not have an answer for Us.
“We’ve been taking our relationship just day by day, honestly. She is a person that has a lot of support with family and friends. She’s spending a lot of time with them and with me,” he exclusively told Us in May. “We’re just now getting into taking things slow, moving together now.”

The Lack of Photos from the Aruba Trip
In May, Grant traveled to Aruba with Juliana’s family — but fans quickly noticed the pair shared little content from their trip together. Juliana’s engagement ring also appeared to be missing in some of the photos, which did include an image of her and Grant.
“You are not wearing your ring and only one Pic of you and Grant????” one user wrote on her Instagram post, while another added, “Thirteen pictures, only one of you and Grant and that’s not strange. 
I don’t think that picture of the two of you is from Aruba. Please post more.”
Didn’t Make the Move
Grant claimed he was gearing up to move to Boston to be with Juliana, but hadn’t officially moved. This is a comment trend for Bachelor couples who don’t make it down the aisle.
In June, Grant shared a photo outside a home seemingly in Houston, captioning the Instagram post, “Home is where the heart is 
.”
