Drivers traveling on Griffin Road between Ohio Street and Broadway in Bangor will face 24-hour detours until late July at the Bulls Eye Bridge, the city announced Wednesday.
The detours will allow the Maine Department of Transportation to repair the bridge, including crews paving the bridge and adding sealant, among other work.
That work began Tuesday.
For around 20 days until late June, a detour will direct eastbound traffic on Griffin Road left on Ohio Street, then right onto Finson Road to connect with Broadway. Westbound drivers will be able to cross the bridge during this period.
Around the first week of July, that will reverse, the city said. Eastbound traffic will cross the bridge while those traveling west will detour at Kenduskeag Avenue.
