Whenever Taylor Swift hits the road for another tour, Shaquille O’Neal wants Travis Kelce to be her opening act.

“You gotta get me on the DJ booth, man. You gotta teach me your ways, dog,” Travis, 35, told the former NBA star, 53, on the Wednesday, June 4, episode of the “New Heights” podcast.

O’Neal — a.k.a. DJ Diesel — agreed and added, “You know what’s crazy, you opening up for your girlfriend. Bro, you’d be a f***ing star. 10 minutes, hyping up the crowd. Oh, my God.”

The idea was one Kelce would be down for. “You know I’m a hype man. Get it rocking in there,” he stated. “[I’ll] have the Swifties bouncing off the walls before Tay gets out there.”

Travis Kelce Says He’s ‘Proud’ That Taylor Swift Is His ‘Lady’

Since Kelce and Swift, 35, began dating in 2023, the couple have supported each other at their respective events. Swift has cheered for Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs at multiple NFL games, including two Super Bowls. Kelce, meanwhile, was a frequent attendee of the Grammy winner’s Eras Tour, which concluded in December 2024.

During a June 2024 tour stop in London, Kelce surprised Wembley Stadium concertgoers by appearing on stage during the show’s Tortured Poets Department set. The athlete joined dancers Kam Saunders and Jan Ravnik in a top hat and suit to help Swift get dressed to perform “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

In the now-viral cameo, Kelce lifted his girlfriend up and sat her on a prop couch on stage. As the dancers helped Swift with her costume change, Kelce fanned himself and pretended to apply makeup to her face, also showing off some of his dance moves.

Swift gushed over her boyfriend’s Eras Tour debut in an Instagram recap of her London shows. “I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰,” she wrote at the time. “Never going to forget these shows.”

During Wednesday’s podcast, O’Neal went on to praise Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, for introducing him to Swift at the 2024 Super Bowl. “Your brother did something nobody else in the world can do. He walked me right over, I got to shake her hand. She was with Ice Spice,” he shared. “I was more on Ice Spice than I was on your woman, but I appreciate you very much. I was like, ‘Hey, Taylor. Oh, my God, hey Ice Spice!’”

O’Neal previously shared a photo from his interaction with Swift via Instagram. Jason, 37, called the moment “awesome” on Wednesday’s podcast, while Travis added, “That was the Super Bowl I like to remember. I appreciate you saying that, man.”

The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl, with Travis and the pop star sharing a sweet kiss on the field after his big win. Swift once again supported Travis and the Chiefs at the 2025 Super Bowl in February, but the team ultimately lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.

At the end of the episode, O’Neal pulled out his phone to play “I Knew You Were Trouble,” giving Travis the chance to celebrate Swift regaining the rights to the masters of her first six albums.

“Shout-out to Tay Tay. Just got that song back, too,” Travis said. “Just bought all her music back so it’s finally hers, man, I appreciate that, dog. Love you, big dog.”
