
Although there’s been a few days of reprieve from rain, don’t expect the sunny weather to stick around this weekend.
It’s going to be another rainy weekend across the state, with scattered showers rolling in Thursday night and lingering through Sunday afternoon.
According to National Weather Service forecasters, high temperatures will remain in the high 70s on Thursday, before dropping to the low 70s to mid 60s through the rest of the weekend.
Windy conditions will persist throughout the day Friday, before giving way to heavy rainfall on Saturday. Rain will stick around through Sunday afternoon, with skies clearing heading into next Monday.
Through April and mid-May, most of the state has seen more precipitation than normal — an entire inch more than in a typical April, according to national data. Some of the higher precipitation totals have happened on weekends, though the state has had its share of rainy weekdays too.
Last Saturday, Houlton saw a daily maximum record amount of rainfall, with 0.93 inches falling throughout the day.
It has rained at least one day of the weekend for every weekend since the end of March.
