Madawaska rejected a $25 million tax abatement request from its largest employer. Twin Rivers Paper Co. balked at a massive bump in the valuation of its mill, but the town says it corrected an earlier assessing mistake.

Penobscot Theatre’s latest play is a funny, insightful look at the fall of the Soviet Union. The Bangor company is just the second to produce “Mother Russia,” which premiered earlier this year at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
