In March and April, VIP reopened its Portland and Augusta stores in new locations.
VIP Tires & Service — northern New England’s leader in all things tires and service — announced the reopening of its Portland and Augusta stores at new locations within the same cities.
VIP’s new Portland location opened on March 15 at 522 Riverside St., replacing its former location at 35 Riverside Street, which closed on Aug. 31, 2024. VIP moved into the former Riverside Street Garage building and completed a comprehensive renovation. The existing building was gutted and updated with all new mechanical, new electric, etc. – everything was replaced. Additional updates included relocating the main entrance, installing a new storefront system, building a modern customer service area and lounge, upgrading restrooms, and adding a new employee break room, garage doors, and state-of-the-art vehicle lifts and shop equipment. The 5,000-square-foot facility features seven service bays and is managed by Brandon Tuttle, with a team of nine employees.
VIP’s new Augusta location opened on April 8 at 50 Western Ave., moving from its previous site at 61 Western Ave.. VIP had previously shared space with O’Reilly Auto Parts, which will now occupy the former VIP space. The new stand-alone greenfield facility is a 7,000-square-foot building featuring a spacious customer lounge and service area, restrooms, employee break room, eight oversized repair bays, and a large tire storage warehouse. The Augusta store is managed by Chris Myshrall and also employs a team of nine.
VIP will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Augusta location at 10 a.m. on May 20, and for the Portland location at 10 a.m. on May 21.
“These new locations allow us to better serve our customers in Portland and Augusta with improved layouts, more space, and state-of-the-art equipment,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP. “We’re proud of the investment we’ve made in these communities, and we’re excited to continue offering top-notch service in modern, customer-friendly facilities.”
