It’s time to reveal the secrets behind The Masked Singer’s epic costumes.

Season after season, viewers of Fox’s reality show are left wondering what happens to the unforgettable looks after Hollywood’s biggest stars unmask themselves and share their true identity.

After being boxed up, the costumes — sometimes weighing more than 100 pounds — live in a temperature-controlled existence until they’re used for promotional purposes or loaned to other countries.

“They can’t get too hot or else glue can melt,” lead costume supervisor Grainne O’Sullivan shared in the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.

Some stars develop such a connection to their costume that they ask to keep their look after their run on the show comes to an end.

“All of them have asked,” O’Sullivan revealed to Us.

While some contestants are able to borrow their costumes — season 1’s Donny Osmond briefly put his on display at his Las Vegas show — all good looks must come back to the powers that be.

For 13 seasons, The Masked Singer has allowed celebrities to face off against each other and appear in elaborate costumes with full-face masks to conceal their identities.

A judges panel, which currently includes Rita Ora, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, tries to correctly guess who is the singer behind the mask.

This spring, Candace Cameron Bure had the opportunity to compete on the top-secret singing competition show. During her experience, she fell in love with her Cherry Blossom costume.

“When I had said yes [to the show], I was so hoping that I would have a costume that felt like clothes,” Bure, 49, exclusively shared with Us in March. “When they showed me cherry blossom, I thought it was so beautiful. We have so many cherry blossoms around, and I’m always shooting my movies in British Columbia and the cherry blossoms are blooming right now.”

Before taking the stage with host Nick Cannon, Bure said she had a couple of fittings and the costume designers tailored the costume “to my body and it was real easy to put on. It’s like you’re putting on a onesie.”

“Once you put the dress on and all those cherry blossom branches were on, it was super cool but easy,” she said. “Easy to wear except for the mask. You put the mask on and it’s so hard to see out of it. You kind of feel like you’re walking blind a bit, or at least it’s very dark.”

The Masked Singer airs on Fox Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
