Nearly 30 Maine golf courses now participate in the Youth on Course program, a national effort which allows youth golfers ages 6-18 to play for $5 or less once they have a membership through the initiative.
Maine Golf, an association of more than 100 courses across the state, administers the program statewide. Maine Golf Executive Director Brian Bickford said youth enrollment has grown to around 3,400 and the organization is hoping to add more courses to the lists — with an ultimate goal of expanding to all of Maine’s 16 counties.
