The U.S. Coast Guard says one man was killed and another injured after an incident aboard a Maine-based fishing vessel Friday.
The Coast Guard received a distress call around 4 p.m. from the fishing vessel 25 to Life, located about 25 miles off the coast of Nahant, Massachusetts.
The call reported that a snapped rope had struck two crew members.
Officials reached the boat and transported the two men to a hospital.
One of the men, 26-year-old Jaxson Marston of Addison, later died from his injuries.
Maine Rep. Tiffany Strout, R-Harrington, shared a Go FundMe page on Facebook, benefiting the victim’s family.
