It appears that country singer Morgan Evans might have a new love in his life nearly three years after his divorce from Kelsea Ballerini was settled.
Evans, 40, joined American Idol alum Laci Kaye Booth at “Live In The Vineyard Goes Country” in Napa Valley, California, on Wednesday, April 23, where the singers performed a duet of Booth’s track “Daddy’s Mugshot,” which they wrote together. (Booth previously appeared on Idol in 2019, the year Laine Hardy won.)
“This is my boyfriend, by the way,” Booth, 29, quipped during the set, pointing to Evans in a video shared via social media by Country Now. “And I’m in love with him.”
Evans, who is Australian, subsequently greeted the crowd with a “G’day” before stifling a laugh. Neither he nor Booth has further addressed their relationship status. (Us Weekly has reached out for comment.)

This would be Evans’ first romance since his divorce from Ballerini, 31, was finalized in 2023. The “Over For You” singer and Ballerini were married from 2017 to 2022 before she filed for divorce.
“I was just really honest,” Ballerini recalled of telling Evans she wanted to break up during a 2023 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I was like, ‘I’ve loved what this has brought in my life and I respect you and I respect me and because of that, I can no longer be in this marriage.’ We cried, we hugged. It was sweet. And then something changed and I haven’t talked to him since.”
According to Ballerini, the divorce decision came down to a hesitation toward having kids.
“I don’t know if I want kids at all or not, but that was something we had talked about early on and that was something that I was changing on, you know, because he was ready,” the Patterns artist recalled. “He was like, ‘I don’t want to be an old dad,’ is what he kept saying. And I was like, ‘I’m just not there yet.’ I took [Morgan] out to dinner and I was like, ‘For my 30th birthday, I want to freeze my eggs,’ and it was not a good day. I think that was when I was like, ‘There’s a fundamental difference here that has happened and that has shifted’ and … it was like, ‘He wants something out of life and I’m not there.’”

Ballerini, who is now dating Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, healed from the split by writing her Rolling Up the Welcome Mat EP and full-length Patterns record in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Evans also channeled his post-breakup emotions into music.
“The only thing you can control is you and how you feel and what you’re doing,” Evans said on The Bobby Bones Show in February 2023 of the lessons he learned. “Thankfully, I have good people around to keep reminding me of that and keep me grounded in that way, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”
He added, “After sharing it, seeing how that level of vulnerability and personal writing is actually the thing that most widely relates to people. And the amount of messages and comments I get on social media now, they’re so great.”
