Late travel influencer Vanessa Konopka had partner Fernando by her side through the years — even after their split.
“We’ve met in Australia and we used to live there for the past 5 years, and I’ve got to tell you that within that time we got used to that lifestyle and we have created a comfortable routine,” the pair wrote on their Happiness Crossing website. “We are really blessed for what we have conquered and learned so far.”
Vanessa, who hails from Germany, shared vlog channel Happiness Crossing with Fernando.
In March 2025, Fernando shared that Vanessa died at age 28 after battling illness.
“Kushka, if you are perhaps reading this somewhere, thank you so much for teaching me how to love myself doesn’t matter what other people think, she showed me how to love myself, and how to follow my dreams!” he wrote via their joint Facebook account. “I will forever love you and we may see each other again..”

May 2022
Vanessa and Fernando rocked swimsuits as they ran toward the ocean together. “From working an underpaid 9-5 that I hated to traveling the world and working online from anywhere in the world with my soulmate,” she wrote over the May 2022 Instagram video. “Life is crazy.”

November 2023
Vanessa announced that she and Fernando went their separate ways. “‘Remember, that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.’ 
,” Vanessa wrote via Instagram. “Those weird and emotional statements are always hard to compose because there is no way to describe a relationship or break up in one little instagram caption.”
She continued, “For now, that’s all I can do to inform you guys that @fernando.nhan and I are broken up since a couple of months and are moving forward as good friends and business partners. You guys are our family and the reason why we are where we are in our lifes.

Vanessa shared that she and Fernando will continue to manage their beach bar in Boracay as a “strong team” and encouraged fans to stop by and say hello.
“For this moment, I hope you guys understand that sometimes in life things aren’t meant to be permanent and it’s healthy to move on sometimes,” she wrote. “We separated on good terms and don’t want anyone to take any sides. There are no sides. Love you guys and thank you for your continuous support always. It means the world to me.

July 2024
Months after announcing their separation, Vanessa asked her followers for help. “Please support me — I created my own Facebook page because Fernando moved back to Brazil,” Vanessa wrote via their Facebook joint account in July 2024. “So I am alone here now in the Philippines .”
December 2024
Fernando shared that Vanessa was hospitalized in December 2024 in the Philippines. He noted that she was diagnosed with “severe liver damage and pneumonia, which have made her extremely weak.”
“She is still in the hospital, unable to eat properly, walk, or even speak easily. She needs urgent treatment to regain enough strength to fly back to Germany on a normal flight. Right now, a medical air ambulance—which would be the safest option — costs more than €200,000, which is out of reach for her and her family,” the GoFundMe read.
The GoFundMe continued, “We are trying to raise funds to cover her medical bills and any other care she might need to stabilize her condition. Anything you can give, no matter how small, would mean the world to Vanessa and her family.”
Fernando shared that the “only thing we need right now is to see Vanessa back on her feet, happy, insipiring [sic], smiling again, no matter what.” He added, “Every donation, share, or prayer helps us get closer to giving Vanessa the care she needs to recover and come home.”

February 2025
Fernando revealed that Vanessa was “out of danger” and with her mother in Boracay. “They will wait a few more days till Vanessa gets strong enough so she can go back to Germany for treatment,” he explained. “We thank you for all your prayers, all donation, all words of support. God will bless you all.”
March 2025
Fernando shared that Vanessa died alongside a series of photos of her smiling while traveling.
“Hello everyone, This morning, on March 7th, Vanessa passed away. She always loved connecting with you all, and her love for the Philippines was beyond words,” Fernando wrote via their joint Facebook. “Once again, I can only ask for your prayers so that God may bring comfort to the hearts of her loved ones. I trust in Him, I know He is with Vanessa and I know God is always with us.”
