BANGOR — Penquis C.A.P., Inc. (Penquis) is pleased to announce the groundbreaking celebration for its new Bright Beginnings Child Development Center, a state-of-the-art early childhood facility set to serve children and families in the Greater Bangor area. The celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. at 31 Hillside Ave. in Bangor.
This new center represents a major step forward in Penquis’ commitment to expanding access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education. Once complete, the 16-classroom facility will consolidate several existing locations and provide care for nearly 200 children ranging from infants to preschoolers.
The project directly supports working families, promotes school readiness, and strengthens the local workforce.
“This center reflects our commitment to children, families, and the future of our community,” says Kara Hay, Penquis president & CEO. “It will give children a strong start, support working families and strengthen our economy by making the workforce more stable and supported.”
The event will include brief remarks from community leaders, campaign supporters and Penquis representatives, followed by a ceremonial groundbreaking.
The Bright Beginnings Capital Campaign, which has raised over $500,000 to date, continues to welcome community support. Penquis will soon launch the Stepping Stones: Buy-A-Brick Campaign, giving individuals and businesses the chance to leave a lasting mark on the new center while helping close the campaign’s final funding gap.
