Not even a microphone malfunction will keep Lady Gaga from slaying her mainstage Coachella set live.
During her Friday, April 18, performance at the music festival, Gaga, 39, appeared to have an issue with her wireless microphone while performing “Abracadabra,” according to footage shared via social media. As she descended an elaborate stage set, one of her dancers offered her a handheld mic as a replacement. Through it all, Gaga continued singing without missing a beat.
Later in her set, the pop star addressed the technical issue.
“I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second,” Gaga explained while seated at a grand piano. “At least you know I sing live, and I guess all we can do is our best, right? I’ve definitely given you my best tonight. I love you so much.”

Gaga headlined the Indio, California, festival on back-to-back weekends.
“I’ve been lucky that I’ve had some real success since the last time I performed at Coachella,” the Mayhem artist told Uproxx earlier this month. “But also, I love my new album so much, and I’m so excited to perform it live. I can’t wait. So, this felt like a great opportunity to do something creative and artistic and just bring my full vision to life.”
According to Gaga, she was particularly excited for fans to hear “Killah” during the performance.
“I really love that record. It’s the Gesaffelstein feature,” she gushed. “It’s ultra confident, ultra funky, super unique and cool. I’ve never done anything like it before, so that’s making me feel really excited just to do something I haven’t done yet before.”
Gaga also knew that fans would want to hear her most popular hits, such as “Poker Face,” “Born This Way” and others.
“You know, whether I’m performing at one of my own concerts or a festival, I think people always want to hear your hits. That has to be a part of it,” she told the outlet. “But also, you know, I’ve actually never been someone who will shy away from my artistry, given the venue. I think Coachella is an opportunity to do something unique and special.”

She added, “People being able to experience that idea around the world is also really cool. With the way the world is today, I think people worry about outputting content so much and quickly. And I feel like my art is something that once I do it, I want to make sure as many people as possible can see it, because it takes me a lot of time and thought to put it together. So yes to the hits, but also yes to high artistry.”
