Bethenny Frankel is swapping New York City for Florida and there’s a very wholesome reason behind the move.
An insider exclusively revealed to Us Weekly on Thursday, April 17 that Frankel’s daughter Bryn Hoppy, 14, was one of the driving forces behind the decision. (Frankel shares Bryn with ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.)
“Bryn is Bethenny’s top priority, and the decision to move to Florida was all about supporting her,” a source close to Frankel, 54, exclusively tells Us. “The move reflects Bryn’s academic and athletic goals, and was made with her physical and emotional well-being front and center.”
It comes after Frankel announced via an Instagram video earlier on Thursday that she planned to move interstate.

“I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons,” she announced via the clip. “Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest for myself and my daughter.”
She added: “We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York. This will be our primary and permanent residence.”
Frankel previously hinted that she was thinking of moving when she shared a photo of U-Haul boxes stacked up.
“Life is good albeit with some unexpected stressful surprises … Moments with good friends, food, laughs, and as always a little chaos,” she captioned the Instagram post, teasing, “So many exciting changes coming soon… but you nosy B’s will just have to wait and see

The Real Housewives of New York City star welcomed Bryn in May 2010. Frankel and her ex Jason — who wed in 2010 — split two years after welcoming their baby girl. After a custody battle with her ex, Frankel was awarded full custody of the teen in 2020. The pair finalized her lengthy divorce in 2021.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly in June 2023, Frankel gushed about how much she adored being a mom, sharing: “I love parenting!”

The reality TV star opened up about how she and Bryn cultivated their special mother-daughter bond over the years.
“We love rituals and creating memories with every holiday and season,” Frankel explained to Us. “From vegetable picking to surfing to wakeboarding and snowboarding, we do a lot together.”
After her divorce and custody battle with Jason, Frankel moved on with Paul Bernon, who she dated for six years before calling off their engagement.
A mutual friend of the couple confirmed to Us in May 2024 that “it just wasn’t going to work” between the pair.
“They are so different – he’s an under the radar kind of guy,” the source said.
