A driver from Lebanon was seriously injured in a Monday morning crash on Interstate 95 in Kennebunk.
Kelly Adams, 45, was driving a 2019 Nissan SUV north on I-95, near mile marker 23, about 8:48 a.m. when Adams rear-ended a 2022 Toyota SUV and then hit a 2004 Freightliner tractor-trailer stopped in the breakdown lane, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Adams was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with significant injuries. The Toyota’s driver was taken to Maine Medical Center, as well, for evaluation.
The tractor-trailer’s driver wasn’t injured.
The crash shut down northbound traffic on I-95 for about two hours.
The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed, but the York County district attorney’s office will review the case.
No additional information was immediately available.
