Saturday Night Live alum Cecily Strong found her happily ever after with her fiancé, Jack.
Strong met Jack, whose last name has not been revealed publicly, after her agent convinced her to go up to him at a Christmas party in December 2019.
“I talk to the man with the mustache. He’s very cute,” she wrote in an April 2020 Vulture essay. “I have social anxiety, and I’m drunk and tired, so I have no idea what we talk about.”
After he goes home with her, they exchange numbers and start dating. Nearly three years later, the couple got engaged privately.
“One day he was like, ‘I’m so inundated with emails and texts, look at this.’ And he showed me his phone, and the first text was from a friend that said, ‘How did it go?! Ring emoji,’” Strong shared on Late Night with Seth Meyers in March 2024. “And then, I was like, ‘Oh no, should I?’ And he went, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘I could try very hard to lie, but…’ So then I knew.”
After four years of dating, Strong announced in November 2024 that she was pregnant with her and Jack’s first child. Strong revealed she had given birth to a baby girl in April 2025.

December 2019
Strong and Jack met at a Christmas party and ended up going home together.
“The next morning I’m a little more shy. He is less shy. ‘Can I give you my number?’ he asks. I hand him the pink-flamingo pen my psychiatrist gave me that week,” Strong wrote in her 2020 Vulture essay. “I find an old receipt, and he writes ‘Jack’ and his phone number on the back. Now I have to text him first in order for him to have my number. I text him right after he leaves. I like him. Our timing isn’t great. We both live in New York, but I’m about to go to California for a month. He’s going to Cuba for two weeks.”
April 2020
In her Vulture essay, Strong opened up about what it was like to fall in love with Jack as she was grieving the death of her younger cousin, Owen.
“At first I thought it was so difficult to meet someone right as I was losing someone I loved so much. I knew he’d have to be patient with me. He’d have to let me grieve,” she explained. “It would be easier not to even try during that process. But grieving for Owen was like nothing I’d ever experienced, and I promised Owen and myself to continue to let all that love be there along with the sadness.”
After the comedian and Jack had the “what are we” talk, she recalled telling him that she thought he was a “gift to [her] from Owen.”
“And I like thinking of it that way,” she wrote.
December 2023
On Late Night with Seth Meyers in March 2024, Strong revealed that she and Jack had gotten engaged the previous December. She noted that, at first, her ring only fit her index finger.
“I don’t know my ring size — I wear, like, every size ring. So, he took one of those, and it was five sizes too big,” she shared. “I was wearing it on my index finger for a long time. Not as a statement, it just would’ve fallen off.”
November 2024
After nearly four years of dating, Strong announced she was pregnant with her and Jack’s first child.
“A couple years ago I did a piece on SNL as Goober the Clown who had an abortion the day before her 23rd birthday. I’m happy to report that same clown is now very happily pregnant from IVF at 40,” she wrote via Instagram.
February 2025
“Best birthday of my life. Everyone should have a baby shower with the greatest group of friends and family on Earth for their 41st,” Strong captioned pictures of her February celebration via Instagram.
In her lengthy caption, she also gave a sweet shout-out to Jack: “While it may seem odd at first to have a giant baby shower, I know how incredibly lucky and grateful I feel to have existed in a time and place where I could make the choice and actually get to safely (knock on wood) become a mom at 41. With a fantastic partner. And I think that’s worthy of a proper f—ing celebration!”
Just over a week later, Strong was spotted showing off her baby bump on the red carpet for SNL’s 50th anniversary special in New York City.
April 2025
Strong broke news that she had welcomed the couple’s baby girl via Instagram. “Me and my girls,” she wrote alongside a sweep snap of herself laying in bed next to her daughter and dog. “It’s been a week and a day with my beautiful squirmy baby girl. I recognize all her little squirms and kicks from when she was on the other side of me and now I get to say ‘see what I was talking about!’”
She went on to call Jack “the best dad I could ever have imagined” and the “best partner I could have imagined.”
