When Meghan Markle‘s cookware makes headlines, it’s no surprise the world takes notice. A recent Food and Wine article currently making the rounds dives into her love of Le Creuset, a brand known for its colorful, high-quality pieces and a steep price tag. But here’s the thing: You don’t have to drop royal-level cash to get the same timeless look and top-tier performance in your kitchen. If you want that classic enameled cast iron aesthetic without the royal price, I’ve rounded up some affordable Le Creuset alternatives for you starting at around $40!
1. Dutch Oven Dutchess: This is probably the most iconic Le Creuset piece. If you want the real deal, expect to pay around $300-$500 depending on the model. Our alternative? Under $80 will get you a similar enameled cast iron Dutch oven with a lid from cast iron specialists Lodge, that looks nearly identical to Le Creuset.
2. Braiser on a Budget: If you’re on a really tight budget and want one piece to add to your kitchen, it’s this enameled cast iron braiser. Similar braisers from Le Creuset start at $320. For almost one-tenth the price, you get a 3.8 quart enameled cast iron braiser that serves two to three people. Perfect for your next potluck!
3. Copycat Creuset Cookware: A full cookware set from Le Creuset will run an astonishing $1,300 but I found a great seven-piece cast iron cook set for under $160! For that low price, you get a skillet, saucepan, small Dutch oven, large Dutch oven and three lids. This one looks nearly identical to Le Creuset, has the same 4.6-star rating and the only thing missing is one small 1.75-quart saucepan — add one of those for only $34 with coupon.
4. Classy Kettle: For a fancy tea kettle similar to Le Creuset, Circulon offers a very affordable alternative. This is probably the closest you’ll get to the signature cloche kettle but instead of $115, Circulon’s version is $36. It’s perfect for gas, electric, ceramic and induction stoves.
5. Cast-Iron Cuisinart: One of my favorite ways to grill a sandwich is with a grill pan with ridges to get nice grill marks. If you want that from Le Creuset, it’s on sale for “only” $184 right now. Cuisinart has a very similar enameled cast-iron grill pan for $42 that you’d be hard-pressed to tell the difference from Le Creuset’s Signature Square Skillet Grill.
6. Royal Roaster: Le Creuset’s 5.25 quart Signature Roaster pan is a tough pill to swallow at $305. I found a much cheaper enameled cast iron roasting pan that’s nearly identical for $58 — and has the same 4.5-star rating as Le Creuset! It’s ideal for roasting, searing and braising meals, and has a double-duty lid you can use as a griddle. The Le Crueset doesn’t even have a lid. It comes in six bright colors (including a kicky purple and) looks good enough to serve from.
