Connie Britton saw David Windsor at a mutual friend’s 50th birthday party in November 2019 — and the rest is history.
“I walked into his party and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I don’t know a single soul at this party.’ But I was like, ‘It’s OK, I just wanna celebrate him. It’s his 50th birthday,’” Britonn recalled in January 2023 on an episode of Sirius XM’s Radio Andy. “And so I’m talking to my friend and he looks past me and he sees David across the room and he is like, ‘There’s someone here you have to meet.’”
Britton gushed that she’ll “never forget” seeing Windsor for the first time except that they never met that night as she had to put her son Yoby to bed. (She adopted Eyob “Yoby” from Ethiopia in November 2011.)
“My friend was like, ‘Wait, wait, wait. I wanted to introduce you to David!’ I’m like, ‘You know what, just have him email me,’” the actress said, noting that Windsor sent her a message the next day.

After being spotted together in public throughout 2021 and 2022, Britton confirmed their relationship in January 2023.
“I have an amazing man in [my] life now and he is definitely stepping into that more paternal role,” she gushed to Andy Cohen on an episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, adding that he is part of the entertainment business and works as a writer.

Britton made a rare comment about her five year “partnership” with Windsor — and how their romance continues to flourish.
“What I was really looking for was a partnership where there’s constant growth, on both sides, and a sort of deepening of each other,” she told Parade. “And therefore [a] deepening of who I am — and for him, who he is.”
The award-winning actress noted she wanted a relationship where it makes her “a better mom and a better actor and just a better person in the world.”
“It’s not just, like, ‘Oh, I found true love,’” she explained to the outlet. “It’s that I found somebody who I can walk on a journey with that is going to be constantly ever-changing, but also ever-deepening.”
