Sydney Sweeney stepped out with her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell after she canceled her wedding with fiancé Jonathan Davino — but there is nothing to see here.
Sweeney, 27, and Powell, 36, were allegedly spotted together at a local Dallas restaurant in photos obtained by Instagram gossip site DeuxMoi on Sunday, March 30. (Us Weekly has reached out to the two actors’ reps for comment.)
“There is nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney. They are just friends,” a source exclusively tells Us. “Sydney is close with the entire family.”
According to the insider, Powell’s sister Leslie invited Sweeney to her Saturday, March 29, wedding in Dallas, Texas, since they have “been close friends for a long time.”

“Sydney brought one of her girlfriends to the wedding as a guest and she RSVP’d months ago,” the insider tells Us.
Sweeney and Powell previously played love interests Bea and Ben in 2023’s Anyone But You. During production, the duo sparked affair speculation when they were seen together in multiple cozy behind-the-scenes photos. Powell was dating model Gigi Paris at the time, while Sweeney was engaged to Davino, a coproducer on Anyone But You.
“I don’t have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she’s very smart,” Powell told Business Insider in December 2023, referring to the then-viral rumors. “And look, Sydney and I do have authentic chemistry.”
He added, “It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship and she’s very happy.”
Sweeney also shut down the romance speculation in her March 2023 Saturday Night Live monologue.

“I’d say the craziest rumor I’ve seen is that while I was shooting Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my costar Glen Powell. That’s obviously not true,” Sweeney quipped on the sketch show. “Me and my fiancé produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot. I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”
Sweeney, who was first romantically linked to 41-year-old Davino in 2018, further called their connection “steady” several months later.
“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” Sweeney told Glamour UK in December 2023. “What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up and then tear them down.”
Us broke the news earlier in March that Sweeney and Davino canceled their spring wedding after facing “major issues” as a couple.
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” a second source told Us. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
According to the insider, Sweeney and Davino’s challenges stemmed from the actress’ busy work calendar.
“She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship,” the second insider said. “Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
