Jason Tartick is revealing his diagnosis after suffering from severe back pain.
“I just got my results and I know what happened to my back. And here’s what happened and here’s everything I did wrong,” Tartick, 36, said in a Wednesday, March 26, Instagram video. “I broke my back, like, I actually broke it. No joke.”
Tartick explained that the technical term is “L5S1 retro spondy,” referring to a “backward slippage of the L5 vertebrae on the S1 vertebrae and then a fracture.” Tartick claimed that there was “all this pressure” on the spine, which is “what radiated all that f—ing awful pain down my tailbone and leg.”
“My knee to my toes are numb. It was the worst pain I’ve ever been in, nothing’s come even close. That’s how I ended up in the hospital,” he said. “Now here’s what I did wrong. Because when you have back pain, go see an [orthopedist]. My dumbass went right to a chiropractor. There’s nothing wrong with working with chiropractors. In fact, my ortho was like, ‘I very much endorse them.’ However, not when you have a fracture and you didn’t know you had a fracture and actually, the day I got chiropractor work is the day I went to the hospital because chiropractor work can make a fracture worse.”
The former Bachelorette contestant encouraged his followers to “go see the right doctor, get the diagnosis and then from there treat it.”
“It’s all about anti-inflammation, pain management, PT and then being aware of certain movements,” Tartick said. “You have 8,000 issues in your life. Your to-do list, your checklist. And the second a big health scare comes up, you only have one issue, and it’s a big wake-up call.”
“Have you ever dealt with back pain? First-timer here and I broke that damn thing,” Tartick captioned his post. “Here’s what I wish I had done differently: 
I should have lead with a Primary or Ortho, not immediately a Chiropractor appointment. Get an X-ray first. Most insurance companies require an X-ray before approving an MRI. I should have started with an X-ray, possibly followed by an MRI, before seeking treatment. See a doctor sooner. When the pain started months ago, I should have gone in right away instead of waiting until it became unbearable. .”
He continued, “Respect the nervous system. It controls everything in your body. Proper warm-ups, stretching, and core work are essential daily to avoid injuries. I should be back to 100% in 5–6 weeks.”

The official Instagram account for Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast, wrote in the comments section, “On a positive note, you crawled on all fours and drove yourself to the emergency room as opposed to taking an ambulance. Money mafia is happy to have seen you saved some money there 
.”
Tartick shared on the Monday, March 24, episode of his podcast that he had “a tough week” dealing with back pain — and didn’t know “what the hell” was wrong with him.
“I’m getting f—ing old, man, washed up. Weirdest thing, I’ve talked about it on my Instagram and stuff, but we do the RV trip. I know I hurt it lifting and something set it off. And bro, that pain, that Monday night, I have never, ever, I hope to never feel pain like that for that long ever again,” he said of his trip with a pal, adding that he went to the hospital “crawling on all fours” and received steroids, which he was still taking at the time.
“I go get an MRI f—ing tomorrow,” Tartick continued. “So I’m hoping I don’t have a herniated disc. I’m hoping it’s just a bulge disc. Right now, knees to my toes, it’s, like, still tingly, which is crazy. And to put in perspective, I don’t know, man, like not to sound douchey, but like two, three weeks ago, maybe a month ago, I was squatting probably like 295 pounds. And right now, I can’t do a squat on my foot. I can’t do a one legged squat, I fall. It’s like I had a stroke or something.”
