OLD TOWN — Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is excited to announce a special Earth Day fundraiser in collaboration with Governor’s Restaurant & Bakery in Old Town. On Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22 from open to close, Governor’s will generously donate 10 percent of all proceeds to support Hirundo’s conservation efforts, environmental education programs and wildlife habitat preservation.
During the fundraiser, Hirundo Wildlife Refuge will also have a welcome table set up at Governor’s, where visitors can learn more about Hirudo’s mission, upcoming programs, and ways to get involved. Earth Day is a perfect opportunity to give back to nature.This event allows the community to support environmental conservation while enjoying a delicious meal at a beloved local restaurant.
Hirundo invites nature lovers, families, and curious minds to its Earth Day: Meet a Scientist event on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Binette Park in Old Town. Visitors will meet scientists working in various environmental fields. Through hands-on activities, visitors will explore scientific research and gain a deeper understanding of the natural world. Kids have the opportunity to win a free wildlife poster of their choice! This is a free event!
Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is a 2,400-acre nature preserve dedicated to environmental education, wildlife conservation, and outdoor recreation. Located just west of Old Town, Hirundo provides a haven for wildlife and a space for people to connect with nature through hiking, paddling, and educational programs.
