
The University of Maine is once again headed to TD Garden in Friday’s Hockey East championship match.
The second-seeded Black Bears take on the fourth-seeded University of Connecticut Huskies at the Boston venue at 7:30 p.m., after overturning Northeastern in double overtime late Thursday night.
UMaine secured a 4-3 victory during the Hockey East semifinal game Thursday night.
Friday night’s game will be available to stream through ESPN+, or NESN+.
It will be UMaine’s first appearance in a Hockey East championship game since 2012, when the Black Bears lost to Boston College 4-1. The team will be seeking its first title since 2004 when it beat UMass 2-1 in triple overtime.
