Kim Kardashian allegedly tried to stop Kanye West from releasing a new Sean “Diddy” Combs song that features their daughter, North West.

West, 47, released the new track, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” in a post via X on Saturday, March 15.

“LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine Williams,” West captioned the post.

In alleged text messages between Kardashian, 44, and West — posted then deleted on West’s X account and published by TMZ — Kardashian reportedly told the rapper that North, 11, couldn’t be featured on the track with Diddy because her name is trademarked.

“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop,” Kardashian reportedly wrote, according to screenshots.

“I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her,” she reportedly added, referencing the disgraced music mogul who was arrested in September 2024 and indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. (Diddy, 55, has denied the allegations against him).

“One person has to trademark!” Kardashian allegedly wrote, according to the screenshots.

Kardashian reportedly added that she and West had made a deal to get all of their kids’ names trademarked when they were born, to which West responded: “Amend it or I’m going to war.”

“And neither of us will recover from the public fallout,” he added, according to the screenshots. “You’re going to have to kill me.”

TMZ also reported that Kardashian sent cease and desist letters in an attempt to prevent West from releasing the track.

Ye proceeded to write a series of posts detailing his difficult relationship with his children via X on Saturday.

“Just seeing my kids is like visitation,” Ye wrote in one of the posts. “It’s like I’m in prison ‘seeing’ my kids.”

West and Kardashian share four children together: North, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.

West previously temporarily deactivated his X account after sharing antisemitic social media posts in February. The posts led to West being dropped by his talent agency and the shutdown of his website, Yeezy.

Us Weekly reached out to representatives for Kardashian and West for comment.
