A threat was made against Bangor High School on Friday morning.
The Bangor Police Department received a “concerning phone call” about 11:30 a.m. Police are working to determine whether there is an actual threat against Bangor High, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the department.
Police have been stationed at the school to ensure the safety of students, teachers and staff.
The Bangor School Department has placed Bangor High under a “hold action,” where students remain in their classrooms to keep the halls clear. Learning still takes place, but students don’t change classrooms.
“The safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. We will continue to keep you informed about important concerns at our school,” the School Department said in a statement.
No additional information was immediately available.
