A man is dead after a Wednesday standoff in Machias.
Devon Andrews, 50, of Machias allegedly threatened staff at Sunshine Residences, prompting police to go to his Lyons Street apartment, according to CBS affiliate WABI.
When officers arrived, they talked with Andrews through his apartment door. He told officers he had five loaded guns and then stopped talking with police, WABI reported.
The building was evacuated.
When a Maine State Police tactical team entered his apartment eight hours later, officers found Andrews dead, according to the TV station.
