A Portland man died Sunday night after he was hit by two cars.
The 57-year-old was walking in the road in the area of Forest Avenue and Walton Street about 9:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
That car’s driver, a 22-year-old South Portland woman, stopped to aid the man when he was hit by a second car driven by a 62-year-old Portland man, Nadeau said Monday morning.
The pedestrian was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
No additional information was immediately available.
