Four more people have been sentenced for their roles in a Maine drug trafficking ring.
U.S. District Court Judge Stacey Neumann sentenced John Miller, 24, of Caribou to more than four years in prison and three years of supervised release, the U.S. attorney’s office said Thursday
Neumann also sentenced Jason Cunrod, 42, of Caribou to four years in prison followed by three years of supervised release; Joshua Young, 48, of Presque Isle to time served, as well as three years to supervised release, including two years of home detention; and Carol Gordon, 53, of Bangor to time served and three years of supervised release, including six months of community confinement.
Miller, Cunrod, Young, Gordon and others conspired to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl in Penobscot and Aroostook counties from Massachusetts between January 2018 and December 2021. They would acquire drugs from a source and then sell them to customers in both counties, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
The charges stem from a September 2019 stop on Interstate 95 during which Maine state troopers found five pounds of methamphetamine. That stop prompted the investigation into the drug ring that authorities say lasted about four years.
In addition, Miller was accused of providing the drug source with guns, while Gordon allowed her Bangor home to be used to sell drugs and she acted as an intermediary between buyers and sellers, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
