MORRILL — Last weekend, we needed to cancel the MidCoast Maine Community Square Dance Party due to the dangerous driving conditions from Sunday’s snowstorm. However, I am happy to report that the Morrill Community Center and our musicians are all available for this coming weekend, so we have moved the event to this weekend!
We have another great Community Square Dance Party and concert planned for you, this Sunday, Feb. 23rd! This will be at the Morrill Community Center (the old Honesty Grange #83), 4 North Main Street, Morrill, ME 04952. 2 p.m. concert, 4 p.m. Community Square Dance Party, and 6 p.m. potluck and singing.
The band for this month’s concert & dance is “Beat Bucket” which includes: Molly Gawler with fiddle & vocals and Shepsi Eaton with piano & vocals. Caller will be Chris Ricciotti with guest caller Molly Gawler.
At 2 p.m. Molly & Shepsi will provide a musical concert on piano, fiddle, guitar, and voice with humorous & vaudevillian surprises. Following this at 4 p.m. will be our Community Square Dance Party, with more fun & lively community square dances with caller Chris Ricciotti with guest caller, Molly Gawler. Following this at 6 p.m. will be a potluck, and time for singing for those who would like to do this.
Our dances are open to all and are welcoming and inclusive. All dances are taught. No prior experience or partners needed. Families and kids are welcome!
Admission is sliding scale $10-$20, extra donations are welcome. No one will be turned away on their ability to pay. Also, we need volunteer help at the dance. Please let me know ahead of time if you can help. Anyone who volunteers, gets in for free!
For more information, contact Chris Ricciotti by email at [email protected] or by phone or text at 207-382-8300.
Please invite your friends and help us spread the word!
We are proud to be partnering with Belfast Flying Shoes, who has helped support our dance series.
