A pedestrian died Saturday evening after an SUV hit him in Bangor.
Jeffrey Green, 69, of Bangor was walking on Kenduskeag Avenue, near Glenwood Avenue, about 7 p.m. when the SUV hit him, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Green died at the scene, McAmbley said Monday morning.
The SUV’s driver told police that Green appeared “suddenly” and thought that he may have been chasing after a dog, according to McAmbley.
The SUV’s driver, who hasn’t been publicly identified, is cooperating with police.
The crash remains under investigation.
